Telecom Support Specialist
Kokomo, IN Kokomo, IN Full-time Full-time $20 - $26 an hour $20 - $26 an hour 1 day ago 1 day ago 1 day ago Telecom Support Specialist Job Summary Performs clerical and tracking functions of fiber optic installation projects and supports Telecom Installation Techs by troubleshooting and providing project details as necessary.
Works side by side with Outside Plant Manager, Telecom Installation Techs, and Service Delivery Specialists to assist and support the team.
General Accountabilities Review incoming locate tickets to determine if we have fiber in the area.
Schedule locate jobs for Telecom Installation Techs through SONAR.
Maintain fiber counts in job accounts through SONAR and provide techs in the field with fiber counts either by checking SONAR or reviewing the job prints.
Design residential installation jobs based on details provided by Telecom Installation Techs using Google Maps, ARCgis, and/or VETRO.
Prepare and review all required documentation for jobs including prints and budgets and send to contractors.
Track all install tickets, jobs, and activations via various digital platforms to ensure the installation process is running smoothly.
Maintain job records on all digital platforms including marking jobs completed and cleaning up incomplete jobs.
Run reports requested by Outside Plant Manager in SONAR such as job analytics, account activations, and job statuses.
Provide support and act as a first point of contact to Telecom Installation Techs by trouble shooting issues that may arise in the field.
Provide general support to all team members when needed.

Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
1-2 years of related experience, preferred Must have experience working in Telecom Industry Experience with VETRO, ARCgis, SONAR; MS Suite, preferred Skills Excellent verbal and written communication Active listening Problem solving/Trouble shooting Attention to detail Critical thinking.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
