Failure Analysis Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the failure analysis laboratory and leading a department of engineers to perform failure analysis on products and materials.
This function reports directly to the Quality Manager Customer Satisfaction.
The primary responsibility of the Failure Analysis Laboratory Supervisor is to conduct detailed analysis of defective products in production or those received from customers.
This involves dismantling the products and utilizing CT scans as well as various analytical equipment to identify the root cause of the defects, and then exploring ways to improve the defects.
The supervisor ensures that laboratory procedures and techniques comply with industry standards and regulations, and that all laboratory equipment and instrumentation is properly maintained and calibrated.
The Failure Analysis Laboratory Supervisor must work closely with various departments of the company to thoroughly verify the necessary tests and support effective problem solving.
When defects are found lead containment, analysis, and resolution to prevent defect propagation.
Failure Analysis Laboratory Supervisor is also responsible for documentation, communication and read across all issue's corrective actions the goal of the failure analysis to increase customer satisfaction and manufacturing yield.
Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following.
Roles and Responsibilities Lead a team of engineers in conducting failure analysis on products and materials, identifying root cause and providing recommendations for corrective actions Conduct training for Failure Analysis Laboratory engineers To ensure all Failure Analysis Laboratory engineers complete all assigned tasks in timely and efficient manner Conduct Root Cause Analysis of all environmental in-process and material issues which may cause product defects, and implement follow-up corrective measures to resolve identified safety issues Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including manufacturing, development, suppliers and customers, to address failure analysis issues and ensure product quality and safety Develop, implement, and monitor efficacy of corrective and preventive actions Prepare updates and reports on the result of the defect analysis, and communicate to cross functional team including production, development and purchasing Maintain quality inspection & testing equipment to ensure reliability of testing Manage Laboratory budget, personnel work planning and scheduling Areas of Leadership and Technical abilities Action / Results oriented:

energetic, enjoys working at quick pace High School Diploma or GED Equivalent Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees within all areas of the Plant from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership as required Ability to build effective cross functional relationships internally and externally Demonstrated technical problem-solving ability Goal oriented self-starter with ability to lead teams Ability to coach / mentor / develop Failure Analysis Laboratory engineers Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Ability to work overtime as required Preferred Job Requirements Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent Master's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing Shainin Red X / Six Sigma Certification Experience with the AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plans, FMEA, Production Part Approval Process, MSA, and SPC (Statistical Process Control) Experience with quality certification and system such as ISO9001 / IATF16949 is required Familiar with World Class Manufacturing pillar methodology and implementation Extensive knowledge in Data Analytics utilizing MS Excel, MS Access or other database applications Good working knowledge of Google Suite software programs ASQ Certification in Quality and Reliability.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
