Reporting to the Athletic Director, the graduate assistant will have the opportunity to gain experience with athletic administration through a variety of tasks throughout the athletic program.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
Assist with the day-to-day operations of the athletic program including game day management, sports information, media relations, department marketing and promotions and social media responsibilities; work closely with all coaches to meet their media and statistical needs; disseminate sports results and information to area media outlets; help design, implement and facilitate annual marketing plan; work with campus and other community entities to plan and promote special events; assist in developing and producing electronic media guides, game programs and brochures; write and distribute all departmental news releases and improve and maintain departmental athletics web pages; write stories and articles for internal university publications; oversee all athletic department video production efforts; develop archives of records and statistical information; attend and organize structured study sessions for all athletes; and set up post-event interviews when appropriate.
Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in a graduate program at IU Kokomo at the time of appointment; Bachelor's degree required, as is a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift 30 lbs. Additional requirements include proficiency with Microsoft Office and webpage design, excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, demonstrated orientation toward quality service and teamwork, and demonstrated leadership and organizational skills. Media relations and/or sports information experience preferred, as is the ability to keep volleyball statistics.
This is a part-time position averaging 20 hours per week. Compensation includes fee remission (in-state tuition rate) for a maximum of 18 credit hours per 12-month period beginning with the start of the fall semester with at most, 9 hours in any semester or combined summer session (fee remission does not cover dedicated fees, mandatory fees, course related fees or audit hours); a total stipend of $8000 over the 10-month appointment, and eligibility for the graduate student health insurance program.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
